Also included with this ACdelco 4L60E Remanufactured Valve Body is an upgraded ACdelco separator plate.
Between the years 1996 and 2000 GM had wear issues with the 4L60E valve bodies. Because of the oscillating action of the
TCC valve in operation, wear in the valve bore of the valve body casting is common. Usually the first symptom is a "service engine soon" light
and a DTC P1870 code is stored in the PCM. This code is set when the PCM recognizes transmission clutch slippage while in 3rd or 4th gear
range. The clutch slippage is usually in the 3-4 clutch setup or the torque converter clutch. If this condition is not corrected immediately clutch
failure will soon follow. The AFL valve in these valve bodies have the same wear characteristics which causes low line pressure. The only
correct repair procedure is to machine the valve body and use a quality replacement valve.
